One thing I love, it must surely be my country I live in, South Africa. Although it has a lot of shortcomings, mostly I’m happy here. I’ve not been hit by crime, except for car radio stolen out of our car.
I am a keen follower of Scott Hanselman‘s blog called “Scott Hanselman’s Computerzen.com“.
Basically Scott is seen as a MVP for Microsoft, and is visiting South Africa for a couple of weeks, doing a few presentations and speaking a few speaking events.
What is sad is that he has not been welcomed very well in our nice country, and I feel ashamed of the state of some of the things he raises in his blog. It is nice to see someone blog from an objective point of view, and not like most South Africans which view the country only from their side of the fence.
Here are a few posts that I found quite intriguing :
- South African Customs
- Scott and his family arrives in South Africa, and his passport is full.
- Vigilance in South Africa
- This one let’s my blood boil and people like this just needs to freaking leave the country and go to Australia, or rather UK. I think just go read this one, for a visitor to the country to be attached like this is really not kief.
- Culture Shock and Flakes and Crunchies are the best
- South African Emergency Taxis
- Who wouldn’t write about the South African taxis?
There are alot more posts to read through that are very useful for us South Africans.
Thanks Scott for the seeing our country in all the nice and good ways, a very objective point of view.
