sURLs Web Forgery ?

In January 2009 I launched sURLs.cc which is a free URL shortening service.  I’ve had nice plans for this domain, as the domain itself cost me $30. The first 2 weeks saw a very successful traffic redirection of about 2 000 redirects per day, but this has now died down.

My development plan included some very nice features:

  • WordPress, Firefox and Outlook plugins.
  • Enhanced statistics – the service already has a stastical component built, although it is not showing at the moment.
  • Integration via various protocols

But, the thing that dampered my work on this domain is the fact that the domain was reported as a Web Forgery on Firefox’s anti phising feature.

At the moment if you browse with Firefox to http://surls.cc all you get is this ugly block :

web_forgery

I’ve checked everything about the site, the redirects use a standard 301 redirect, but I did find that some of the shortened URLs point to some Rickroll sites and Porn sites, so I reckon one of these could have caused this.

There is a standard process one can follow to dispute the removal from this “Black-list” but this has been to no avail whatsoever, filling in the forms at Google/Firefox does not help.

I’ve also submitted to some Firefox forums, but all they can say is submit on the Google form provided.  At this point in time I’m getting a bit tired of running around in circles and not very keen just to drop the project, but what other actions can I do to get my site “unlisted” from their blacklist. Have I missed something, like certain elements on my website etc.

$30 is not alot of money, but it comes down to the principle of money spent, and I’m getting no use out of the investment… Can anybody help!
